Reader comment on item: Is Turkey Going Islamist?

Submitted by Harun Hassouni (United States), Jun 7, 2005 at 10:48

After having read the MEMRI reports on Antisemitism in Turkish Media, I see the slow but sure move to Islamic society in Turkey. As a Turkish born Jew, I am very worried with what is going on there and urge the western media to focus on the increasing Islamic trends, antisemitism and 'other' signs that will pull Turkey away from the secular and tolerant society to what we are seeing now in totalitarian and Islamic societies.

Unfortunately, under the guise of democracy, the Islamists will force their ways and will turn Turkey backwards to middle ages.
