Reader comment on item: What Actually Causes American Fear of Islam and Muslims?
in response to reader comment: Answer #2 to Mohammed

"...I am sure Hindus and Buddhist are capable of violent outbursts when pushed, but not today. ..."

Not likely. None of their scriptures prescribe violence as a means of dealing with non-Hindus and non-Buddhists. Buddhism is not fear-based - it has no angry deity that needs supplication, no focus on the evil 'unbelievers' - and honours life and existence itself.

Violence is the very last resort - not the first thing that comes to mind.. There is nothing like koran 8:39 or koran 8:12 in the Upanishads. Or Sahih Bukhari 9.84.57 in the Pali Canon. (Buddhists especially are not so concerned with a delusion of the creation of a religious identity. )
And practicing Buddhists and Hindus do not think they 'are above the law of the land ' as eminent CAIR director , Mustafa Carrol recently announced to other muslims.

Buddhism is inherently non-violent and Hindusim stresses respect for all.
