Islam vs Jihadism

Reader comment on item: Islam vs. Islamism (article)

Interesting comments. I also distinguish between "Christianity" and "Churchianity." I believe the jihadists are simply Moslems who are following their religion literally: they cannot distinguish between the glorious universal spiritual principles of Islam and the situational revelations given to Lord Muhammad to address a particular problem. Because the Koran is not in chronological order, Moslems try to follow all of it. This means they follow instructions Allah gave to Muhammad on how to win a particular battle against a Jewish tribe, on veiling women (which was meant to apply only to Muhammad's wives) and require four witnesses for adultery (which was meant to save Aisha's life in one particular instance). This religion lost its' spiritual focus on the day Lord Muhammad died, and has been a retrograde force for much of its' history. They should realize that no religion from God compels us to hurt other people.
