Apology For Political Gain?

I agree that an apology shouldn't have happened because we had no reason to apologize. I immediately thought that Obama might have promised Bibi that he will reward us with the return of Jonathan Pollard if we agreed to the apology. The Muslim world hates us no matter what we do. By apologizing or not we are in the same position anyways. This reminds me of a Neil Simon play where the father is proud of his son for standing up to his boss because the boss was mistreating another worker. The father said "I'm proud of you for standing up to the boss, the question is in these times can we afford pride?

Politics is a very dirty business, conducted by some very dirty people, in very dirty times.
