Reader comment on item: [Freedom House report on] Saudi Venom in U.S. Mosques

Submitted by Gloria Stewart (United States), Feb 13, 2005 at 22:28

Dr. Pipes is to be congratulated again on an excellent article. What readers should bear in mind is that while these pamphlets were written in Arabic, learning Arabic is compulsory for Muslims. Converts to the Islamic faith (or reverts as Islam calls them) are expected to attend Arabic classes. Children who go to Islamic schools learn Arabic there, and Muslim children who attend non Muslim schols learn Arabic afternoons or weekends.

Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR (who knows better) dismissed the pamphlets as unimportant because so few people in a mosque knew Arabic. On the contrary, at any given time the majority of those in a mosque will know Arabic and those who do not will soon learn.
