Saudi position misunderstood by commenter Rob James

The Saudis' oil actually gives them all the cash they need to buy off anyone in a position of influence in the US who might object to their interference in American affairs. Daniel Pipes has commented on this in the past, as have several writers in National Review.

As a result, rather than staying out for the sake of their oil, their oil is what enables them to meddle.
