In defense of President Obama

Reader comment on item: Obama vs Netanyahu, Round Three

I have to wonder how many of you have had any training in Psychology or Conflict Resolution? If the intention is to arrive at Peace, a meaningful sustainable Peace, then a mediator must not take sides. Each side of the dispute will say that they are 100% right and the other side is 100% wrong. Some may be more rational but they are usually not the activists. Now the only way to get resolution is for each side to sacrifice and each side to win. Many people heard only part of President Obama's Speech when he said Israel and Palestine should return to 1967 borders. The second part said with "swaps". Swaps means that the building belonging to Jews in the 1967 Palestine territory would remain because Israel would trade another parcel of land to Palestine.

I would like to remind all of you that the King of Jordan even volunteered to donate some land belonging to Jordan currently. I have also suggested that Islands could be developed in the Mediterranean to provide for the natural growth of both states. Japan has done this, as has UAE, and Holland has done exceptional work against water in the name of housing. We must think positive and we need to think more of the future than of the past.

Love & Peace, Deborah
