Zvi, I agree wholeheartedly and face the same issues with half of my family in Tel Aviv who are snobby leftists and half in the US who are right wingers. It is a deep pity that we have to fight ourselves rather than the real enemies. My belief is that in general, leftists and liberals are utopian thinkers, while rightists and conservatives (certainly in the US) are realists who see things as they are.

P.S. I arrived in Jerusalem in 1969 as well, it seemed like paradise as a child...
