Farrakhan's hypocrisy

Reader comment on item: Farrakhan Demands Reparations from Jews

Submitted by ted (United States), Jul 14, 2010 at 01:49

Dear Dr Pipes: Some Islamist organizations do not consider Nation of Islam as one of them. But the facts that Farrakhan mentions the name Allah and that he is talking like a hypocrite indicates that he must be one of them. Farrakhan wants reparations from Jews for slave trades of the past. Slave trading is something that we should all be ashamed of but Islamic history itself is full of references to slavery. Quran discusses slaves matter of factly as if it was an accepted practice in those societies (for example, it mentions the circumstances when a man can marry a slave women). And since Quran is the last word which cannot be changed or challenged or wrong, slavery perhaps need no reparation. Perhaps Farrakhan should read his own book.
