Reader comment on item: Farrakhan Demands Reparations from Jews

Submitted by myth (Germany), Jul 13, 2010 at 06:48

I read the letter a couple of times. The letter portrays Jews using the words "(...) doing business (...) education (...) families (...) synagogues" declares them, in the order of the words used, an economical, intellectual, racial and religious entity. Going on the "most deceitful so-called friend","our worst enemy" adds the political and historical dimension. That fits a usual anti-semitic pattern.

Remarkably Farrakhan make no reference to the state of Israel here. When Farrakhan demands "(...)help me to lift my people (...)" otherwise "Allah (God) (...) will (...) ruin and destroy your power (...)" he attributes positive potential to Jews whereas a somewhat inferior God only has the means to destroy. The idea that it requires divine intervention to counter jewish influence sounds super-anti-semitic to my ears.

Why does Farrakhan not ask god to "help (...) lift my people" ? Why does god in his scenario not come to the rescue of "his people" and punishes the jews instead which does not benefit "his people" much ? The jewish "power and influence here and throughout the world" is on one level with god according to Farrakhan. It is a devil-versus-god setup, only the devil can be turned around. benign antisemitism certainly.
