Where do people come up with this stuff... you make generalizations.

Perhaps you may have an experience similar to what you write, but that does not make it the norm.

A life, any life (be it human or animal) is precious in Islam. In my years of studying Islam & of speaking to, observing, & socializing with Muslims, I have never experienced, seen, or heard of anything like this actually happening to the many families and individuals I have researched.

The occassional occurrence of such an event, does not make it the norm, and it shouldn't be generalized as such. Otherwise, imagine the horrid things that other nations could say is 'legal' in the US... or for that matter, how little value a human life has in the US. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones... likewise, we should not point fingers. Beating of wives, murder, enslavement... common occurances in the US???... These are illnesses of individuals which affect the society... they do not mean that society or religion approves, condones, or preaches such acts.
