Arabs have been doing Temple denial for a long time

Arab spokesmen have been doing Temple denial for a long time. In 1984 [or 1983? ] a woman named Grace Hazlitt wrote an anti-Israel article for Christian Century. She claimed that a high Muslim official in Jerusalem has told her that the Jewish Temple was not really where the Jews said it was, that is at the Temple Mount, what the Muslims call Haram al-Sharif. The real ancient Jewish temple had supposedly been located in Western Jerusalem, according to the high ranking Muslim, as reported by Grace Hazlitt.

The problem is that this silly Ms Hazlitt believed the Muslim, not the Jews. She writes in this very serious, very confidential tone: I was told by so-and-so, who is the imam or the mufti or whatever, that blah blah. She made the mistake of believing what a politically interested party whispered in her ear.

In fact, there is abundant proof about the ancient Temple, including many archeological discoveries since the Six Day War. It is noteworthy, as Ugri quotes above, that in the 1920s the Muslim officials were very proud to conrtol the Temple Mount and freely admitted that it was the site of Solomon"s Temple. Since the 1920s, however, a need for new lies has arisen. So new lies have been created by the exponents of the Arab cause.
