Can anyone be a Muslim and STILL defend the name Palestine?

Reader comment on item: More on the Muslim Claim to Jerusalem

Submitted by Dillah (United States), Jan 25, 2008 at 23:06

If the Koran mentions the name Israel [even devoted a whole chapter to the children of Israel] but never the name Palestine - how can a person fight to establish the name Palestine and continue to be a true Muslim also?

This question has NOTHING whatsoever to do with any nationality, nor with who's right or wrong.

Why is the whole Islamic world demanding that the name Israel be done away with? This question is not a political one - but a religious one. And if the Koran gathers followers by scaring them with the after-life punishments that it teaches - where is the fear in establishing a name that God never even mentioned in place of a name that He did?

For the devout Muslims - this is a very important question.....one that yet to be answered.
