Sorry, burst my bubble you did not, though what you say is factual to a certain extent. The time frame during the Six-day War was too short for the Arabs governments to mount any alert for an overall exodus from the West Bank as was done in 1948.

But unbeknownst to many observers is that after the Israeli victory in 1967 a substantial majority of the West Bank Palestinians were packed and ready to flee to neighboring Arab countries unsure of the Israeli intent. The law of unintended consequences was placed in motion when a one-eyed, left leaning Israeli general/politician persuaded the Palestinian leaders at that time to forestall the exodus saying they could all live in peace.

As for the Arab countries not assimilating the Palestinians it was all part of a grand plan to fester the wound, as stated by the Muslim Brotherhood, and allow time to provide the Arabs with the victory they could not achieve militarily.
