Reader comment on item: Salvaging the Iraq War
in response to reader comment: If we follow your recommendation, what happens if the Iraq erupts into civil war?

Public withstood the slaughter of a million , more or less, Cambodians and wrung their hands and averted their eyes. It is foolish to give too much credence to the "American public". They will moan and groan but so what? Moslems killing Moslems will hardly put millions of Americans in the streets.

If the attempt to introduce something like tolerable self governence without the self destruction inherent in Islam fails in Iraq, the future is not good for the hapless Moslem populations. But when has the Islamics ever had an original and self sustaining social order, without terrorizing the population. Indeed, with the nukes of occupied Iran, the Muhammedian ideal of the ultimate terror will be realized. It will be interesting to see how nations under a nuclear threat will "Submit or die" to the sword of Muhammed.
