pre-arab mesopotamia

ever since mesopotamia came under arabic and islamic imperialism and totalitarianism it has gone down the drain. whatever cultural etc. achievements there were in baghdad or basra in the medieval times, they were a result of the old persian - iranian - greek influences still lingering there.
