The problem with war

Israel seems also to be in danger of being in conflict with Iran, as it wants the US to destroy its facilities. It seems that currently Syria is just acting as an agent for Iran.

It also seems hard how Israel can convince Syria that it has a deterrence capability. Since when has Israel shown deterrence? Maybe last summer's war in Lebanon is an example?
