Mr. Pipes,
Did I actually read in your column that "WMD was never the basic reason for the war". That comes as quite a relief to me, I never believed he had them either.
Powell emoting at the UN with a vial of talc - I'm glad you saw that for the transparent stunt that it was.
I also quite agreed with your belief that the Iraqi war "is not about Iraqi freedom". They probably had enough freedom under Hussein anyhow.
Now, fighting for the noble idea of broken promises (broken promises not to the US, but to the UN) now that's a reasonable justification.
Though what happens when our own leaders make promises that they don't keep? Well, I suppose we'll have to start marshalling a militia for that inevitability.
