WMDs were the decisive reason

Reader comment on item: Iraq's Weapons & The Road to War

Submitted by Lawrence Auster (United States), Jun 3, 2003 at 11:50

When Dr. Pipes says that the U.S. had the RIGHT to make war on Iraq in the light of its refusal to honor its 1991 commitments, he is entirely correct. I diagree however, with his point that that was the actual REASON the U.S. went to war. The existence or near-future development of WMDs was unquestionably the decisive reason, not only in Bush's speeches, but in the attitude of the public in supporting the war.

I strongly support Bush's war policy. ..
