Long Over-Due Explanation

Reader comment on item: Arabia's Civil War

Submitted by Jacob Burkey (United States), May 15, 2003 at 17:58

Thank you, Dr. Pipes, for this essay. Most Americans have wondered why we should support the royal family at all, given its support for terrorist ideology. Now we know it boils down to getting the big piranha to eat all the little piranhas so that we can de-fang the one left alive.

Before your column's explanation, all of the administration's dealings with the Saudis left me feeling angry and disenchanted with the President. Now I understand.

Thanks again.
