Reader comment on item: Arabia's Civil War

Submitted by Faisal Alotaibi (Tunisia), Dec 26, 2005 at 19:55

I really couldn't see all these inputs filled with cultural, historical and political ignorance and pass through silently. Gentlemen, imagine me and my friends from the neighborhood of Kuwait city sticking our noses in Yorkshire's municipality's affairs in England.

Sorry, but this is how it looked to me. Wahabisim is not a religion, it was a political movement to unite the Arabian Peninsula under the flag of Islam, and was named after the religious scholar Mohamed abdulwahab. The ikhwan movement was the unity of the major tribes controlling najd which was the heart of the peninsula (Mutair, Ejman, and Otaiba), and has nothing to do with political movement of Alekhwan which established in Egypt by Albanna decades later.

The tribal ekhwan formed the right arm under bin soud's flag "no god but one and Mohammed is his prophet" which united the peninsula. people seems to have a big misconception regarding the religiously claimed link of the terrorists and islam, in my opinion david waco amongst some others christian leaders don't represent christianity even though they claimed. peace to every religion.
