Bravery vs. stupidity

Reader comment on item: War's New Face

Submitted by M. Simon (United States), Apr 19, 2003 at 16:37

Bravery sometimes is a matter of conceding defeat to learn from it.

Stupidity is wishing death in a hopeless cause. Morons and dead enders indeed. Such acts may prove their faith but they do not prove their military prowess. It is disgusting having to mow down the dopes. It is a dirty job. Perhaps we can take some comfort in that we helped them fufil a religious obligation.

Discretion is still the better part of valor.
