Does Moderate Islam Really Exist?Reader comment on item: Combating the Ideology of Radical Islam Submitted by Richard Rheiner (United States), Apr 13, 2003 at 13:47 I have a terrible fear that there really are no truly "moderate Islamists." Where is this silent majority of Islam? They expressed no outrage over 9/11 other than to say that they did not condone such a radical act. I am glad they don't condone it but do they condemn it? The Qu'ran is a marvelous idea but it is not followed as was intended. My greatest fear is that all Muslims are agreed on only one thing and that is the eventual destruction of Israel whether by force or by outbirthing Jews. This institutionalized hatred for Jews and things Jewish is more widespread than the liberal press will admit or print. This is Israel's last stand. I pray that Bush and Blair will not sell them down the river. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
