RADICAL ISLAM FROM A SOCIAL PERSPECTIVE

Reader comment on item: Combating the Ideology of Radical Islam

Submitted by R .WOOD (United States), Dec 17, 2009 at 08:11

IF YOU LOOK BACK OVER THE LAST 2000 YEARS YOU WILL FIND THAT RADICAL ISLAM AND ITS SUPPORTERS HAVE A SOCIAL GAIN ,FOR WHICH THEY WILL NEVER GIVE UP .THE STRONG,THE MERCILESS,THE HIDEOUS,THE STUPID,THE IGNORRANT ARE ALL PROMISED A BRIDE.USUALLY FROM BIRTH THEY ARE GUARANTEED A MATE NO MATTER WHAT DEGREE OF THESE CHARACTERISTICS THEY DO POSSESS .IS THERE A PLACE IN RADICAL ISLAM FOR THE INDEPENDENT THINKER?IS THERE ROOM FOR THE INTELLECTUAL WHO GOES AGAINST THE "GRAIN".??THOSE RADICALS WHO PROTEST THE MOST ABOUT WESTERN IDEAS AND INFLUENCES ARE USUALLY THE ONES THAT ARE MOST AFRAID OF LOSING THERE SOCIAL STATUS IN THE ISLAMIC COMMUNITY.IN A INTELLECTUAL AND A MORE MODERATE RELIGIOUS CLIMATE THESE INDIVIDUALS OF LESSER INTELLIGENCE WOULD HOLD NO STATUS IF ANY,BUT YET IF THEY CAN QUOTE THE "KORAN" WORD FOR WORD AND HAVE OTHERS VIEW THERE OWN INTERPERTATION OF ISLAM AND AT THE SAME TIME CONDEMN OTHERS FOR THEIR MISFORTUNES THEN THE Y ARE HELD IN HIGH REGARD.
