go in for maw maw, not blah blahReader comment on item: Decision Time on Iran Submitted by ADAM (Canada), Nov 21, 2006 at 08:59 As I see it, the pertinent issue regarding the permissibilty of Iran's nuclear program is merely that of establishing that it lacks a weapons program and retains agreement in the NPT. Whatever else may be not in the USA's or its neighbors interests is ought not decide whether or not Iran can continue its nuclear program. This can be best achieved, in my opinion, by the USA giving it negative security assurances, and establishing minimal - but increasingly thorough - confidence building measures, primarily with Israel (they would check eac other). What has been going on now for years, namely, Iran making an art of foot dragging, is unacceptable: the decision is not whether to attack Iran or not, but how, between several alternatives, to engage it intelligently, diplomatically, and ultimately successfully.
