Reader comment on item: The Danger Within: Militant Islam in America

Submitted by A.L. (United States), Nov 10, 2006 at 17:51

If one takes everything presented without research, reading and true thought, it all becomes propoganda.

If you take the Bible at face value, you are presented with conflicting "social" responsibilities from one book to the next. This makes it open to personal interpratation and that's why there are so many Christian denominations.

If the Quran is taken at face value, you are presented with ONE MAN'S version of religion with no other influence or give and take of ideas. This makes Islam easily perverted by the leaders, due to the ONE MAN ONE THOUGHT (there is only one man allowed thought)

All people need to remember that America was built around the idea of FREEDOM and LIBERTY. People may now be afraid to be free, because that means taking responsibility for your actions, instead of allowing your religion, your government, your parents, your children, your spouse or anyone else to think for you, or take the blame for any actions or inactions you personally may have committed. Americans are free to be whom they chose and no one has the right to make them be anything else.

All religions are run by people, not God. Therefore they are inherently corrupt - all the major religions clearly place humans as less than God, and if God is perfect than humanity can not be by the religions' own definition. Therefore the humans who run the religions are not perfect and therefore can not be relied upon to make God's true choices. Remember, every religious text on the face of the planet was written by a person, not directly inscribed by the hand of God. It may have originally been planted by God, but has been interpreted by humans.

Thus, everything is propaganda.
