It is a doomed society that sees only delight in another's misery. Perhaps it is Islamic arrogance that is really on trial here. Certainly these despotic regimes see the success of their own people lie in democracy and the separation of church and state, but this would remove these Mullahs from their power. As for exploiting their resources.....oil is the only one I can think of -- and it was used to support these regimes for a century longer than they should have been supported. Maybe these regimes could join the world with the abolition of slavery and women's suffrage that Christian societies long ago recognized. They must change or join the ashheap of history.
