Local people welcome it..rather than the derelict land which it is now. the land was bought 10 years ago by a local muslim group . This wasn't planned recenty but been in the pipeline for awhile. Most of the funding will be private. I also read one of the reasons why the olympics are here was because these kind of plans.

As i live in the area, I can tell you, I'd rather see it developed than the tip it is now.
