Calling HIM Names

in response to reader comment: GOD is beyond having a gender

Then why do they give God not one but 3000 names which prima facie look masculine and extol with attributes which are very earthly. Is'nt that blasphemy. If you feel shameful to speak English, you should also feel ashamed to use modern technology including the Internet which you are presently using, travel on animal backs, wear 7th century clothes, use bow arrow and stones to fight them. How many discoveries have the Arabs made and what is their contribution to the modern world. As I wrote earlier, religious zealousness creates this kind hatred for others & also their cultures, languages foods etc. It blur's vision and breeds hypocisy. If you dislike chinese, do you also dislike noodles.

All religions including Quran have given very similar description of what God is all about and the "HU" you mentioned is there in Hindu scriptures as the primordial life force and supreme consciousness that is beyond space, time, without beginning or end etc. etc. It is more perfectly described as the sound of the breath we inhale and exhale. That's why they say God is closer to you than your breath. Which means essentially you are the same that you are looking at. That's what Jesus meant when he said that the kingdom of Lord is within you. Sorry to say but English has a very near meaning to HU, meaning 'that which is', --- the one and only one which always is /exists without change).

Yes we cannot grasp who God is? But can you grasp who you are, your true nature? The answer has to be an emphatic no. But if you say yes, you would not have been here debating and discussing.

Religion is only a vehicle and means and not an end in itself. Every religion needs reforms over a period of time, given a new perspective, understood and interpreted according to the times in which one lives. It is unfortunate that have we have modernised our places of worship with A/cs and other gadgets, but still carry the burden of centuries age old mindset of hatred and scorn towards other faiths, always trying to prove with scurrility that my God Damn word is superior to yours. I am fighting hard the urge to say that Islam comes first in the race.
