Verbal obfuscation

Reader comment on item: Erdo─čan: "Turkey Is Not a Country Where Moderate Islam Prevails"

Submitted by Vijay (United Kingdom), Sep 26, 2006 at 10:41

Malaysia's former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad echoes Erdoğan in stating that "There is no such thing as a moderate Muslim. We are fundamentalists in Malaysia. We follow the true teachings of the religion and the true teachings do not teach us to bomb and kill people without reason."

"Reason" can be found for any activity - good ones, bad ones. By Mahathir's definition even Osama Bin laden is a good Muslim becuase OBL has good "reasons" to commit terrorism.

Mahathir Mohammed is fundamentalist wolf in modern clothing.
