Tayyip Erdogan and Islam rules now, Atarturk is history.
Reader comment on item: Erdoğan: "Turkey Is Not a Country Where Moderate Islam Prevails"

Submitted by Ayse Dinkal (Ms) (Australia), Aug 22, 2008 at 06:12

I have just gone through the emails posted on Islam etc. Me and my family have been living abroad for almost 15 years. Seeing the rise of the Islam in Turkey during 1980's, we have decided to migrate for a better (free) life especially for our (unborn that time) children.

I agree completely with James McCluskey comments on Islam and Erdogan. This is nothing to do with Ataturk who tried to make Turkey a modern country. The anti-revolution is on full play now in Turkey with the raise of Islam.

The Islam certainly needs changing but the language of Koran is ruling, not open to change and sometimes even violent (not forgiving) compared to other religions. You can see the effect of this throughout the Middle East. It is almost impossible to change the Islam due to the nature of the Koran.

You are either a radical muslim or not a muslim. There is no middle way according to Koran and supporting culture (Hadises etc). If you call yourself a moderate muslim, then you are certainly helping (even supporting) the radical muslims. YOU will have to change one day (either be a radical yourself or quit like me).

Worst of all, with the raise of the Islam, the state, social and cultural fabric in Turkey is on the way to a complete break down. I can not believe the news about the brutal murders, adultery, mafia like organisations and street fights coming out from Turkey in the last few years. The crime rate seems to be increasing rapidly.

The recent news has involved Ms? Sahane Muftuoglu's relationship with a much older and married man (leading progressive islamist in Turkey, Founder of HYP party). An internet search led me to this site after reading the news about her afairs. I am not sure why she is so sensitive to the gender mix-up by Mr McCluskey (this simple mistake does not really deserve such a reaction) and why she is so eager to send her photo to the others. This is not to offend her further but hear reaction and the recent news may indicate to one thing, SHE SHOULD BE REALLY HOT!
