Reader comment on item: Erdoğan: "Turkey Is Not a Country Where Moderate Islam Prevails"
in response to reader comment: Moderate Islam?

Submitted by Sahane S. Muftuoglu (Turkey), Oct 5, 2007 at 19:27

Why doesnt the US reflect Turkey as a modern and secular 'ATATURK'S REPUBLIC' but instead prefer to call it 'Moderate Islam'? This term is purely an invention of the West. We, as Turks are or were happy with the collaboration of our founding leaders understanding of our republic and our religion as they go hand in hand.

In what period of time have you ever come across identifying terrorism with religion? Arent there terrorists in Europe? Do we identify them by their religions? How crazy does that sound? This is no longer a myth that the US needs an enemy to keep herself powerful and the new enemy replaced by communism is Islam..To control the Middle East, destroy it...give power to the Islamists and when you dont need them anymore kill them, declare war....

The lunatics ruling Turkey are blind enough to see whats happening in their neighbouring countries...Do not forget that it was Saddam once favored by the Americans...But one thing that the emperialists should not undermine...The soul and the teachings of Great Ataturk will prevail as long as there are young politicians in Turkey like myself aware of the games played in my country. We never gave up on national independence and we never will.
