Maybe it is true that everyone loses in war, but anyone who thinks losing is better than winning or even equal to it has to be a liberal Ph. D. (it has been said and written that one must have a high IQ and an advanced degree in order to believe something that is not so.)

Someone said or wrote that one sign of insanity was to keep doing the same thing over and over when it has never worked. We have a lot of that going on-not only in the Israel-Palestinian Arab dispute. With those Arabs, as with al Qaeda et al, one cannot negotiate-they don't want to negotiate-they want to win.

Often in human affairs the wish gives rise to the thought.
