It is no hypothesis that economies the world over are intrinsically linked with Persian Gulf oil. It is fact. It is no hypothesis that preparations are being made (these take time) to scale down the US and other Western economy's critical dependence on Saudi oil. This is seemingly borne out by the development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline infrastructure, and the newly emerged US Georgia strategic relationship. In addition, ethanol refineries are springing up at (I beleive) an astonishing rate throughout the US Midwest, and throughout the Western states as well.
Once we are ready, (I hope), once we can tell the Saudis, "Vaya con Dios, King Abdallah", (I hope), once we have emasculated the "Oil Weapon" of the enemy....then overwhelming defeat can be imposed where necessary. Until then, we must hang on and endure the rough ride.
Will political will to proceed persevere throughout the Western World? That is a good question.
