Pictures of any life form are not allowed in islam.

Pictures of prophets and messengers are not allowed at all, i.e. True muslims dislike pictures of any prophet or messenger, not only muhammad.

you people are too wound up about what you see on the tele which is these terrorists who claim to be muslims and suicide bombers who clearly cross the limits of islam, a more correct term to use would be REBELS, OR RENEGADES, thats what they are, you people need to increase your knowledge about true islam. The perfect example is the Messenger and Prophet Muhammad. The best mankind will ever see.
