Signs of DespairReader comment on item: Those Danish Cartoons and Me Submitted by Dr. Jamshid Ibrahim (United States), Feb 28, 2006 at 06:14 Civilized people know they can profit from criticism but some Muslims in their despair attack you personally or say things which have no relevance to the issue being discussed. Digression is part of their culture. They might even resort to body harm if they are able to as they have tried to intimidate Salman Rushdie. Objective way of seeing things is simply non-existent. They are notoriously one-sided and focus only on their honour ,which is a compulsive obsession. You need to wake them up and tell them we are now in 2006 and not in the seventh century. They live in a dream world and flee the present. All scientific and technological skills are imported because apart from oil and some agricultural products provided by Allah there is no intellectual performance worthwhile mentioning . What are then the latest Muslim contributions in the field of science and technology? I don't mean those Mulsims who perform in the western world and acquire the desperately needed skills.
