Obeid, preach to the choir

Obied Khan and all Muslims who spend considerable time on Muslim apologetics: the people you really need to convince that the violent verses in the Quran and hadiths are being misinterpreted are the Islamic extremists. They are the ones who seem to believe that it is their Islamic duty to wage jihad until all of Islam covers the earth and infidels are either converted, killed, or subjugated. Even if we here all believed what you say about the Quran, it wouldn't really matter in the big scheme of things, because THEY do not believe in your interpretations.

Here is some good advice: go on any radical Islamic website and argue your positions with THOSE people. See how far you get.

They are the ones who are the face of Islam right now. If you want to convince us that Islam is a peaceful religion, you must start with them first. Convince the Wahhabis who are spending billions of their petrodollars to spread Salafist ideology all over the world that their interpretation of Islam is wrong.

The struggle needs to be between moderate Muslims who only seek to practice a personal religion, and extremists who wish to impose Sharia on non Muslims and who use Islam for political purposes. You are barking up the wrong tree.
