Hamas and the "Peace Process"
Reader comment on item: Why Hamas['s Electoral Victory] Leaves Me Neutral

Submitted by Peter G Jones (United States), Feb 1, 2006 at 12:27

Mr. Pipes:

I think that you might agree with me that the "Peace Process" so much heralded and trumpted over past years is really a Hoax, a fiction provided to comfort thse who cannot abide the reality of Islamist intentions, as vividly displayed throughout the history of Islam.

I agree with Jacoby that now there are no available moral figleaves for Palestinians. Arafat, who is still in stable condition after dying at a Paris hospital ( I know this is not original, but I love it), could always wring his hands, claiming that he just could not control those wild and crazy guys/gals at Hamas.

If only these people would learn and then remember to fire their weapons horizontally during their various transports of rapture and/or outrage--the problem would be well on the way to a solution. But-- after all-- firing weapons into the air is a wonderful demonstration of Arab forethought and thoroughgoing philisophy.

Back to the Point: Nothing will happen to blunt Islam's crazed assault on the non-Muslim world until Islam changes or is eliminated, as mentioned by Bernard Lewis, lo, these many years ago.

Consider the farce underway in Denmark, which illustrates the hysterically childish, demented and homicidal child to be sure, reaction to in the Great Cartoon Jihad.

The Prophet set the stage for these things with his practice of making truces only as long as he thought his forces unequal to the task of obliterating the Enemies, and UBL keeps the string alive. A lot of people forget what a truce in fact IS.

As long as the US propagates a flow of useful Idiots such as Ted Kennedy, D Durbin, H Dean, and H Reid, the crazed Islamist legions are somewhich justified in resorting to time-proven tactics in their struggle to revive and enlarge the Caliphate. Only God knows what element of the American electorate will prevail in the next Presidential elections. It is all too likely that
know-nothing PC Isolationism, knee-jerk opponents of free enterprise, and dim-witted proto-socialism will win a term.

But I digress. Yes it might BE a good thing in the long run that Hamas emerged victorious. Now there are two very highly developed scorpions in the same Palestinian bottle, and the world might luck out.

So many issues, so little time.... Peter Jones
