The recent election of the terrorist organization Hamas by Palestinian Arabs should cause the United States to move its embassy to Jerusalem as soon as possible. We all remember the kiss seen around the world. The kiss I am refering to, is when Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat kisses his militant rival, Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi. It is time for congress to face the harsh realities, that peace can not come from a terrorist organization whose aim is to destroy the state of Israel.
The PLO, an organization with over ten billion dollars in assets, pleads poverty. Why should we continue to fund the Palestinian people? The PLO government under Arafat and Abbas is nothing more but a powder keg of corruption. We need to send a strong message to the newly elected terrorist government that we will not support them at all.
To those who believe that negotiations and compromise remain the best hope for peace in the disputed territories is wrong. The Palestinian people believe that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic Waqf for generations and no one can renounce it or abandon it. To renounce any part of the land is to renounce Islam.
Now is the time to take action and move our embassy to Jerusalem and to cut off any promised aid to the Palestinian people.
