Reply to Mr. Samet: Change!Reader comment on item: Palestinians Taste a Dose of Their Own Medicine Submitted by charles fortner (United States), Nov 17, 2005 at 18:09 Change is a constant; perhaps the only one, perhaps one of a few.I just listened as some would-be-luminary proclaimed "we either change them or they will change us". Where, when, how, why and at what cost should we resist change? How has your world (Mr.Samet) changed since you were born? You can list perhaps dozens of ways. I like the changes-perhaps you do not. Today my neighbors are of many different origins. They are a rainbow of hues, tastes, faiths, or lack of faiths, physical capabilities, sexual orientations, economic securities, whatever the difference(s) it makes no difference to me: I don't particularly care. If you do, then I very honestly grant you the pity you crave. Which world leaders are mired in the past? All of them. Which congregations of "true believers" allign themselves with them? All of them. My question, Samet, is why do you attempt to dictate that another poster "change"? ... Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
