Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men
in response to reader comment: Typo

Yes, clearly Muslim men aren't going around capturing concubines like in the 9th century - It's generally not allowed these days. But nowadays some of them are using more subtle tactics. They rarely target fellow Muslim women for their sexual or financial exploits (although it does happen... temporary marriages are an example), it's mainly women from different faiths, like Christianity, Sikhism - or in IS' case the Yazidi minority.

We're not even advising women to stay away from Muslim men - just to know the realities before getting involved. A lot of the time women fall for a dark, handsome and very charming man and don't realise what they're getting themselves into. The cultural differences are vast, and a lot of men will bait and switch.

"I.S.I.S. and their doings do not concern me, and are not a topic for this forum."

I.S are a representation of the more extreme side of Islam, and, although unrelated to the situation/ships on here it's useful to know about. While they are an extremist group, a lot of what they do/did is "arguably" taken directly from the Quran.

The fact that you're unconcerned by their doings is slightly apathetic.

Finally, yes there are generalisations on this blog - it's a touchy subject matter and beating around the bush is what's gotten most of these women in trouble in the first place. We are telling it as it is, and most times the predator is the MENA man and the victim is the non MENA woman. Usually one party is looking for love and genuine human interaction, while the other is seeking personal gain. And I think we know who is who. So, ultimately, telling us that not all Muslims are bad is also irrelevant to the blog - we know that.
