Call me paranoid, but I firmly believe that terrorists are never genuinely "home-grown." Rather than being spontaneous, terrorist operations, escpecially ones with the long-term planning and relatively sophisticated agent-handling systems described in this case, require the active cooperation of professional intelligence agencies; more to the point, I believe this was Iran's doing.
