Should we be surprised?

Am I surprised? Imprisoned criminals make ideal recruits for bloodthirsty jihadists. What do they have to lose; more freedom on the outside? They showed by their criminal activities that "freedom" is low on their wish list. What do they have to gain? Belonging to an even bigger gang with connections to wealthy backers. Why, they can be guaranteed good "pay" for each terror act they commit. Religious zeal is not what will drive them. Greed and hatred of society is drive enough.
