Getting ready for dhimmitude

Reader comment on item: Why Corporations Fund Radical Islam

Submitted by Gloria M. Stewart (United States), Sep 3, 2005 at 11:43

Readers may wonder why CAIR insisted that Mr. Rubin be forced to take a sensitivity training course - more like a Soviet style re-education camp, really - when a simple apology should have sufficed. Actually, I do not believe any apology was necessary, but when one was proferred, it should have ended the matter.

Muslims believe that Islam is perfect as was the Prophet Mohammed and as is the Qu'ran. This makes an Islamic Reformation virtually impossible. But I digress. CAIR functions, among other things, as a tripwire to protect Islam from criticism, actual or implied, mild or severe, or even the appearance of criticism. For such a transgression the offender must be humiliated.

For example, the Jizya, the property tax levied against non-Muslims by Muslim governments, was usually collected in a humiliating way - the better to reinforce the superiority of Muslims. To Muslims, expecially those of the ilk of CAIR, non-Muslims are dhimmis.

One can only hope that more people will have the moral courage to stand up to groups such as CAIR and that those who do will be applauded.
