You used Orthodox Jews in your example forgetting one glaring fact. Not one Orthodox Jew as ever flown a plane into a building, blown up a train in Spain or tried to blow themselves up on the streets of America.

We have domestic terrorists in this country and our government treats them accordingly.

We are not treating militant Muslims the way we are because their customs are different. We are treating them that way because they have declared a holy war on us.

I have yet to hear of one Orthodox Jew trying to bomb something American. And you can bet your boots that if that were to happen our government would be looking at them for the terrorist threat they pose. Not because of differing customs. ..
