Daniel Pipes sees the realities of Islamists we want to ignore

Reader comment on item: A Madrassah in Bridgeview, Illinois

Submitted by Don Gist (United States), Jun 21, 2005 at 12:27

All I can say is thank you, Mr. Pipes. Now if the rest of us would just read what you have to say, it might open our eyes. We have become naive and blinded to what the goals of Islamists are, as well as the dangers facing us, all the while believing we are immune because of our "isolation," which unfortunately no longer protects us. They are here, and they want to destroy us. The few who came here to genuinely escape the totalitarian life in arab countries are not heard, they are afraid to speak for fear of reprisal from the radicals in our midst.
