It's very easy to misquote any religious book and mark it as evil. You have to understand wisdom of the All mighty and then it will be clear to you. The old testament shows the anger of God towards non worshippers and devine orders towards just freed enslaved nation to enilat other nattion who do not serve the porpose of creation of human being. Also you need to know about historical context and social culture of the time of the revolution.
