It doesn't look good for the West

As Mr. Pipes himself noted on the Laura Ingraham talk show, the fundamental circumstance that creates this problem is the huge disparity in population trends between Islam and the developed world. Fertility rates in Moslem families are well above 2.1, the nominal replacement rate, whereas in practically all cases the West falls well below that number. Given the material attractions embodied in most Western societies, together with their appetite for cheap labor, the impetus behind immigration becomes enormous. Moreover, Islam does not have a history of peaceful proselytizing. Any immigrant population will try to retain its own mores, but you have to wonder about an immigration policy that permits the importation of huge numbers of people who do not want to assimilate but seek to impose their culture and religion on the rest of the country.
