Denials of Terrorist Acts, murders, maiming, bombing, stabbing, and so forth

Reader comment on item: Denying [Islamist] Terrorism

Submitted by Nina (United States), Feb 8, 2005 at 18:34

All of us, as Jews, need to be very realistic. That is not always pleasant. In every country, with the except of Israel, we are "visitors", at the whim, often the pure madness, of our hosts. We may stay, as long as we are welcomed. That welcome mat has been withdrawn far too often over the course of history.

What may we do about that? As well documented, not very much. If we behave properly, if we "know" our place, if the host is comfortable with us, all is well.

And that, as anyone knows, can turn on the head of a pin.

We must never forget that, and we must remain alert.

Today, I watched as PM Sharon and Mr. Abbas pledged to work toward peace. Immediately following those fine words, an arab commentator was already demanding a final solution to the demand for arab right of return.
