Another incident -- Italy

Reader comment on item: Denying [Islamist] Terrorism

Submitted by Bruno (Italy), Feb 8, 2005 at 13:11

Some month ago a moslem immigrant in the northern italian town of Brescia left his house with his car, then he parked it beside a Macdonald restaurant, usually packed with youngsters.

The car was filled with cooking gas tanks.

The car went on fire with him inside.

He left a paper where he motivated his gesture as an anti - American act.

The police branded it the "act of a man who was lonely and a borderline personality", following the indications of his smiling family and friends, who declared that he was a lonely man who had been detaching strangely from friends and normal life in his last months.

He was branded a bad psychiatric case .
